It *gives* you hope? Are you saying that you find it hard to believe that people in prisons or jails or detention centers are actual people like you and me? That they might have possibly been put there under circumstances that would have put you there as well, had you been in the wrong place at the right time? Vice versa.. etc?Everyone is so ready to hate convicts because it is so much easier than hating themselves, you see.Projection is the key.
