I'm a little surprised by facebook's shoddy code. While I'm not wild about the APIs they made public, they seem pretty well thought out. Where as myspace has been a coding disaster since it's conception. I remember myspace's infancy... frequent crashes, apologies from tom, and if you ever viewed source on HTML you'd wish you hadn't.
I can't see the sailboat!

“The habs jersey is 98 years old. It seems odd to compare it to jerseys that are only a few years old and judge them all by modern fashion standards. Or do you think that in 2107, they won't look back and find our present day jerseys ugly? For all I know the Habs jersey was baller back in its day... Or maybe it was ugly back then too.

Would people please stop using the analogy of having to buy health insurance, to car, home owners insurance, etc. You choose to buy a car which requires at least liability, many people in big cities choose not too own a vehicle. You choose to buy a house which requires homeowners, once again plenty of people rent. I should not have to buy anything, just by choosing to live.

Yeah, I'm glad I held back on upgrading. I told myself the only way I'd upgrade is if I was able to avoid the off-contract price. You know what? I can't! So now I'm waiting for the 4th or 5th gen phone. If Apple continues a yearly cycle of product refreshes (which if Android picks up pace, Apple will be forced to do more than that probably), then I will wait for the 5th gen phone when I get off my 3G contract.

Here in Uruguay there's this wonderful little job called the "Cuida Coche" which means "Car Watcher". They have a union, little vests, and everything. I wish the government got off their asses and declared this job what it really is....organized begging. Unfortunately, it's so ingrained in the Uruguayan culture that people think it's a legitimate low income job.Maybe these Cuida Coches are a way of dealing with poverty in latin countries since people with cars usually have the money to pay them. I'm not saying it's right though since the government could have much of the poor doing other less obstructive things.

Newchap, honestly you're a dick that's disconnected with the times. Yes, it is often perfectly fine to receive a text and not a call since my phone would be on vibrate and I can communicate without actually having to speak. I would rather someone sends me a text if it's just info, in the case that I don't pick it up and don't have to listen to some voice mail which I often have to replay so I can redial a number they are dictating to me. |
